Information: William Hartley was born April 30, 1852, in Harrison County, Ohio and passed to his reward at his home near Hamilton, MO., May 24th, 1928, at the age of 76 years and 24 days. When he was about four years of age he moved with his parents to Jackson County, West Virginia. Mr. Hartley was united in marriage to Mary C. Hemry September 7, 1880. To this union were born five children, four of whom died in infancy. One son, Paul, survives. In 1880 Mr. Hartley came with his bride to Missouri and settled near Hamilton and lived in the same community to the day of his departure. At the age of 18 years he was converted and united with the United Brethren Church, but after coming to Missouri he united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in Hamilton and has ever remained a faithful and consistent member of the same until called to the church triumphant. During his last illness he repeatedly spoke of his readiness to answer the Master's call. Mr. Hartley leaves to mourn his going his companion, one son Paul, two grandchildren, two brothers and one sister in West Virginia and one brother, C.C. Hartley of Long Beach, California. The funeral service was held in the M.E. Church, Sunday, May 27th, at 2:30 p.m. by the pastor, Rev. C.S. Dayhoff, and interment was made in Highland Cemetery.
