Information: Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Marie Hartley, 51, were held from the Otterbein church at Evans on Friday afternoon with Rev. Armour Sayre and Rev. I. J. McCollum officiating and burial, with the Casto funeral directors in charge, was in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Hartley died on Tuesday night in the Holzer hospital at Gallipolis, after a six months illness.  She was born at Evans on November 17, 1905 and was a daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Stewart Sayre.  On October 30, 1926 she married John Hartley and since that time had lived in the Cottageville community. She was a member of the Mt. Moriah church and of the Antioch Ladies Aid Society.  Survivors include the husband, John H. Hartley; three sons, John with the U. S. Army and Landon and Martin Hartley, at home; a daughter, Geraldine Sayre of Cottageville; two brothers, Wilmer and Stewart Sayre of Evans; two sisters, Mrs. Lionel Casto of Given, and Mrs. Russell Reynolds of Fairplain, and her mother, Mrs. Mary Jane Sayre of Evans.
