Death Notice:

Obituary Date: 1935-05-10

Information: Harry Thurman Harrison, the four year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Granville Harrison of Kenna, died in the Staats Hospital in Charleston last night [8 May 1935] from injuries received when he was stepped on by a horse Wednesday.  Death came at midnight, more than twelve hours after the boy had been injured.  The child was playing about the farmyard of the Harrison home, which is on Spicewood, near Kenna, about 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning.  He got directly in front of the horse and was knocked down and the heavy, steel shod hoof of the horse came down on the child's head.  He was rushed to the Charleston hospital where an operation was performed in an effort to save his life.  The body was taken to the Johnson Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.  Surviving, besides the parents, are two brothers, Charles and Kermit Harrison and four sisters, Arline, Madeline, Phyllis and Laura Jane Harrison, all of near Kenna.  [from the Betty Kessel McIntyre collection]
