Information: Mrs. Mary J. Harpold, one of the oldest residents of Ripley, died at her home Thursday, June 28, at 1:30 a.m. of pneumonia, after an illness of four weeks.  Mrs. Harpold was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Stewart and was born July 15, 1836, on Parchment.  She was united in marriage with John Wesley Harpold in March, 1854, and to that union were born eight children-three of whom died in infancy. She was a noble, kind hearted christian woman, whose life is a worthy example for others to imitate.  She united with the Methodist church at Mt. Moriah in 1859.  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Sallie E. Sayre, of Flat Rock; and four sons, C. F., of Clarksburg; E. S. of Massillon, Ohio; J. M. of Akron, Ohio; and F. J. of Ripley; also two brothers, N. M. and R. R. stewart, of Ripley, and one sister, Mrs. L. M. Davis, of Huntington.  The funeral services, conducted by Rev. H. K. Riffe, will be held at Mt. Moriah Sunday at 10 a.m. and interment will be made in the Mt. Moriah cemetery. (from the Ada Ruth Sayre obit collection)
