  <p>Information: Charles Harpold received word that his brother, Major Lemuel Harpold, died in Dallas, Texas, on March 11th from bronchitis.  He was 85 years of age and lived near Fairplain until two years ago when he joined his children in Texas.  He was a brother of S. W. Harpold, and two sons and a daughter in Texas survive him.  He was a Major in the Federal service in the Civil War, and at its close became influential in the political and industrial life of Jackson County, holding for many years a position of high esteem in the county, being a man of strong character and deeply interested in the general welfare.
