Information: A telephone message was received Thursday evening announcing the death of Mr. James H. Harpold, of Cottageville, which occurred at a Charleston hospital at 2:15 p.m. yesterday afternoon.  Mr. Harpold was a victim of cerebrospinal menengitis, which is causing grave concern in Charleston.  His wife, and daughter, Mrs. John Connelly, and his brother, J. M. Harpold, were at his bedside when the end came.      Mr. Harpold was a prominent citizen of the county.  He had served as Appraiser, Clerk of the Legislative Committees and at the time of his death held a responsible position in the Auditor's office.  Mr. Harpold was 67 years of age.  His wife, four daughters, two brothers, and two sisters survive.  Arrangements for the funeral will not be announced until after the arrival of the remains and the children tonight.  (McIntyre)
