Information: Mrs. Rachel Annie Harper, 84, of Walton, died Feb. 20 at her home after a short illness. She was the mother of Ayward Jones of Racine, O. She was born at Harmony and was a member of Shady Dale United Brethern Church of Harmony. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Emogene Elmore and Mrs. Mary Jones, both of Clendenin, Miss Phyllis Harper of Walton, Mrs. Virginia Holls of Gaithersburg, Md.; son, James Harper of Columbus, O.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Harper of Pinch and Mrs. Gatha Rhodes of Harmony; brother, Emery Jones of Harmony; 14 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren. Services were held Monday at Walton Union Church with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial was in the Mount Moriah Cemetery, Ambers Ridge, Roane County.
