Information:   Harry W. Harper, 71, of Ripley, Route 1, died on Thursday of last week in a Mason County hospital following a long illness. Born in Ryan, Roane County, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary Emma Droddy Harper. He was a retired employee of United Fuel Gas Co. and was a member of Clay Lick United Methodist Church at Ripley. Funeral services were held Sunday at Clay Lick Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joseph Hatcher and the Rev. Norman Taylor officiating. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Cottageville. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nannie Smith Harper; two sons, Cleddith Ray Harper of Ripley and Carl Harper of Walton; six daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Walters and Mrs. Sibyl Harouff, both of Ripley, Mrs. Mary Dillon of Spencer, Mrs. Joyce Van Alsburg of Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Phyllis Allen of New Martinsville and Mrs. Rita Hess of Beltsville, Md.; two brothers, Oral and Burt Harper of Glenville; three sisters, Mrs. Glada Hunt of Vienna, Mrs. Macie Ellis of Gandeeville and Mrs. Lula Edwards of Walton; 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchil­dren.
