Information: Thursday evening, August 17, 1911, Mrs. Theresa Hardesty died at Odaville, at the home of her step-son, Harry Hardesty. Her death was the result of injuries suffered from a fall July 5. The funeral services were conducted by Father McBride, of Parkersburg, in the M. E. Church, South, of Ravenswood, Saturday morning, August 19 at 10:30. The interment was in the Ravenswood Cemetery. Mrs. Hardesty was the daughter of Joseph and Theresa Rool. Mr. Rool was a native of Stratsburg, Germany, and served under Blucher. In 1825, Mr. and Mrs. Rool left the old country and landed in New York after an ocean voyage of 64 days. Traveling westward by wagon train in company with Mr. Webmann, who afterward became Pittsburgh's greatest tobacco manufacturer, they arrived at Pittsburgh. Her Mrs. Hardesty was born in April 1826. She was married in 1843 to Mr. Alexander Donaldson, a river pilot, who drowned in the Mississippi River about two years later. In 1864, she married Henry Hardesty of Allegheny and moved to Jackson County. Here and in Parkersburg she spent the remainder of her life. For more than twenty years she was a nurse in many homes in which she endeared herself to the occupants. All her life she was a devoted Catholic. She is survived by one son, Alexander Donaldson, of Parkersburg, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, two step-sons, Harry Hardesty of Odaville and Robert Hardesty of New Brighton< Pa., who has 10 children and four grandchildren.
