Information: The death angel has again visited our community and taken from our midst Harry B. Hardesty, son of Henry and Mersylla (Lynch) Hardesty.  Harry B. Hardesty was born in Perryopolis, Pa., January 9, 1854, departed this life August 8, 1942, aged 88 years, 6 months, and 29 days.  He was united in marriage to Susan Hunter, October 10, 1880.  To this union were born seven children: Elmer T., Omar O., Ross R.,and Luther F. Hardesty, sons; Mersylla, Ada, and Sylvia, daughters.  Omar O., preceded him in death several years ago.  He is survived by his wife and the following children: Elmer F. Hardesty, Mrs. H.M. Smith and Mrs. Ross Kent of Sandyville, Mrs Edgar Karr, of Rockcastle; Ross R. Hardesty, of Erie, Pa., and Luther T. Hardesty, of Charleston, WV. Twenty-six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren also survive.  Funeral services were held at Lockhart M.E. Church conducted by Rev. William States and Rev. George Caltrider.  He was laid to rest in the Odaville Cemetery.  Chambers-Kyger undertakers were in charge. (Obituary provided through Betty Kessel McIntyre and Clement Matheny collection)
