Information: Elmer F. Hardesty, 68 year old farmer of Sandyville, dropped dead from what is believed to have been a heart attack or stroke at his home there late Friday evening.  The funeral service was held from the Independence Church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Frank Caltrider officiating and the burial was in the church cemetery.  Chambers Funeral Directors of Ravenswood were in charge of the arrangements.  Mr. Hardesty was born at Sandyville on Auguest 27, 1881, a son of Harry and Susan Hunter Hardesty.  He spent his entire life in the community and engaged in farming.  He was a member of the Lockhart Methodist Church.  Survivors include the widow, Erma Lockhart Hardesty; three sons, Lloyd and Paul Hardesty of Sandyville and Robert Hardesty of Glasgow; two daughters, Mrs. Margie Williams and Miss Gertrude Hardesty, both of Parkersburg; two brothers, Ross Hardesty of Tucson, Arizona, and Luther Hardesty of Uniontown, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Smith and Mrs. C. R. Kent, both of Sandyville, and Mrs. Edgar Carr of Uniontown, Pa.  Seven grandchildren also survive. (Obituary provided through the Betty Kessel McIntyre and Clement Matheny collection)
