Information: Mrs. Arena Ellen (Siders) Hamon, 85, of Ripley, a lifelong resident of Jackson County, died yesterday morning in a Charleston hospital after a long illness. She leaves 98 direct descendents.  Born at Advent on April 3, 1866, she was the daughter of George Henry and America (Miller) Siders.  On 10 July 1884 married Joseph Price Hamon, son of Andrew H. and Perlina Rhodes Hamon.  Mrs. Hamon was a member of the Advent Christian Church and had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge at Advent.  Her husband, Joseph Price Hamon, died several years ago.  Surviving are three sons, Ova Marshall Hamon of Ripley, Glenn Joseph Hamon of Perryville, La., and Aubrey Guy Hamon of Newtry, Michigan; four daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Lily Margaret) Skeen and Mrs. George(Hattie Chloe) Jordan, both of Ripley, Mrs. Buster (Iva H.) Parsons of Kenna, and Mrs. Martha Hamon of Mt. Vernon, Ohio (Martha was a granddaughter, raised by Arena); three brothers, George N. Siders of Buffalo, Charles Eugene Siders of Advent and Joseph Siders of Charleston; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Floyd (Lydia Ann) Kiser of Charleston; 41 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10:30 am in the church at Ripley with the Rev. Cecil Noble and Rev. George Thomas officiating.  Burial will be in the Hamon Cemetery at Advent under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home in Ripley.  The body is at the home of Mrs. Lily Skeen and will be placed in the church a half hour before the services.    (Betty Kessel McIntyre)
