Information: Last funeral rites for Mrs. Sarah Lyon Hall were held at her late home in Ripley last Wednesday with the Rev. J. R. Withrow in charge and burial was in Pine Hill cemetery.  The following obituary was read by Rev. Withrow at the funeral:  Sarah Lyon, daughter of Richard and Eliza McGlumfey Lyon, was born in 1864 at Waynesburg, Pa., died Monday August 19, 1935.  After the family came to Ripley she married John Hall of this place, Rev. J. G. Ripley performed the ceremony.  She and her good husband resided in Ripley throughout their lives, Mr. Hall preceded her in death a few years ago.  The following children survive her:  Glen, Vail, Don, Hazel, and Iona Hall, Mrs. Mary Enoch, Mrs. Ella Harpold and Mrs. Martha Maddox.  In early life Mrs. Hall united with the Baptist church and after coming to Ripley transferred her membership to the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, where she took active and prominent part in all it's work and helped it to be of so much service to the town.  A good neighbor, a loyal church woman and a kind and loving mother has passed from among the living, but this community's loss is Heaven's gain.  [from the Betty Kessel McIntyre collection]
