Information: RAVENSWOOD - Phyllis Frances Balser Hall, 81, of Ravenswood, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg. She was born May 22, 1925 in Jackson County, a daughter of the late John Henry and Rosalee Cook Balser. Phyllis was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenswood. She was also a member of the Jackson County Creative Quilters, the Silverton Grange, the Mountaineer Pomona Grange and the West Virginia State Grange. She was a past First Lady of the West Virginia State Grange. She was an award-winning quilter and painter and enjoyed various types of needlework. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Green and husband Jack of Ravenswood; son, Steve Hall and wife Tricia of Indianapolis IN; granddaughters, Sarah Green of Ravenswood and Kate and Avery Hall of Indianapolis IN; great-granddaughter, Cordelia Green of Ravenswood; sisters, Virginia Sheppard of Pleasantville OH and Elsie Horesh of Brunswick OH; and brother L. E. ""Bud"" Balser and wife Gail of Vernon TX. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, John O. Hall; sister, Florence Combs; and daughter-in-law, Dawn Hall. Services will be held today, January 4, 2007, at 11 am at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Rev. Richard Cottrill officiating. Burial will follow at Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund or to the Silverton Grange Scholarship Fund.
