Obituary Date:

Information: GOLDTOWN - Bessie Kathryn Hall, 85, of Goldtown, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2010 at CAMC General Division following an extended illness.  She was born March 18, 1925 on a farm at Goldtown, daughter of the late William H. and Anna C. Duff Monday.  ""My sister liked to work in the house, but I was the one in the fields with dad"", she'd say.  She worked at Sears & Roebuck, taught upholstery and drapery classes, taught Sunday School, and did upholstery for 45 years.  She also was a homemaker that raised a family that she was so proud of.  She loved sewing, gardening, canning, shopping, and being outdoors.  Above everything she truly loved God and her family.  She attended Fisher Chapel United Methodist Church in Romance.  She lived a very memorable life that touched many people along the way.  She always had ""too many irons in the fire"", she'd say, but she would drop everything to help her children, grandchildren or a friend.  She could make something out of nothing, whether it was through cooking, sewing, or upholstery.  She was truly an amazing lady, mother, grandmother and now angel who will be greatly missed.  In addition to her parents, her husband of 42 years, Harold L. Hall, brother, Johnny Nile Monday and sister, Myrtle Casto, preceded her in death.  Surviving:  son, Randall David Hall of Goldtown; daughters, Deborah Mullins (Roger) of Goldtown and Amanda Caroline Whittington (John) of Eleanor; grandchildren, Jennifer Nunley (Luke), Anthony Whittington, Joshua Mullins (Carla), Jacob Mullins (Heather) and Samuel Mullins; great-grandchildren, Cody, Julia, Ty and Eli Mullins and Bryan Hope Nunley.  Funeral services are set for Tuesday, January 4 at 12 noon at the Fisher Chapel United Methodist Church at Haines Branch with Pastor David Peters officiating. Interment will follow at the Duff Family Cemetery at Goldtown.  Friends called Monday evening from 5-8 p.m.  Waybright Funeral Home is serving the Hall family.
