Information: Theo Balser, 95, of Ripley died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Jackson General Hospital following a short illness.  She was born Nov. 1, 1908, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Ira Litton and Ada Litton Thomas.  She is survived by her children, Marqueen Grimes of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Eileen King of Ripley, Imogene Kirby of Charleston, Quentin Balser and his wife, Frances, of Ripley; and one sister, Isabelle Vandergriff of Ripley.  Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Catherine (Mike) Larimer of Indianapolis, Ind., Arnold (Donna) Grimes of Columbus, Ohio, Gerald Grimes of Columbus, Ohio, Sherrie Grimes of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Connie (Robert) Randolph of Ripley, Vanessa (Robert) Ball of Ripley, Gail (David) Hunter of Ripley, Darrell (Connie) Kirby of Blue Ridge, VA.  Wesley K. (Janet) Kirby of Charleston, Marie (Scott) Rawn of Milton, Randal (Carol) Balser of Ripley, Joyce (George) Easley of Hurricane; 21 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; and a niece, Ada Sue Hill.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Balser; a stepfather, Frank Thomas; sisters, Velma O'Dell and Elva Vandergriff; and a great-grandson, Anthony Kirby.  Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug 21, at Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating.  Burial will be in Fairplain Cemetery, Fariplain.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
