Information: Perry Deane Hager, 69, of Inwood, Berkeley County, died March 30 in the City Hospital, Martinsburg. Born April 9, 1913, in Ravenswood, he was the son of the late Chester and Rosie Bland Hager. He was a retired livestock inspector for the federal government. He attended Cedar Grove Christian Church and was a member of the United Commercial Travelers. He is survived by his wife, Velma Pullins Hager, whom he married November 22, 1939; two sons, Willie of Hedgesville, Richard of Pikeside; two daughters, Veldena Chapman of Potomac, Md., Arlena Cohen of Greensboro, N.C., and Lucille Bennett of Inwood; six grandsons and six granddaughters; one brother, Kenneth of Coolville, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Perry Deane Hager II, who died in 1945; and five half-brothers and one half-sister. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Yoder and the Rev. Elmer Wheatley officiating. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
