  <p>Information: Alice Puckett Gunter, 66, of Birch River, W. Va. formerly of Ripley, died Tuesday morning at Greenbrier Valley Hospital, Lewisburg, after a long illness.  She was the daughter of the late Melvin and Dorma Ferguson McIntyre.  She was a field worker for the Community Action Center in Summersville and was a former Democratic committeewoman in Jackson County.  Survivors include:  husband, Carl E.""Cotton"" Gunter; daughter, Janet Hammack of Ripley; sisters, Florence Burnside of Middleboro, Ky., Ruth Tolley of Melbourne, Fla., and Eloise McIntyre of Cottageville; brothers, Jennings of Clarksburg and Kenneth of Ripley; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.  Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Casto Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gerald Sayre officiating.  Burial will be in the McIntyre Cemetery near Cottageville.  Friends may call after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home.</p>
