Information: DEATH CLAIMS AGED RESIDENT-  Robert Griffith, aged 83, died at his home on Drift Run on Christmas afternoon about four o'clock after an illness of more than a year. His condition had been reported as rather serious for several days prior to his death and members of his family had been called in when it was seen that death was only a matter of hours.      He was born in Ohio on October 24, 1852, a son of David and Sarah Ann Griffith.  When a small boy he came with his parents to Jackson county where he has since made his home.  He became a member of the Methodist Protestant church at the age of fourteen years and was a consistent Christian throughout his life.  He is survived by the following children:  Mrs. George Maple of Ravenswood, Route 1, Gertrude Parsons of Cozad, Nebraska, Mrs. Rosa Lemley of Belleville, A. E. Griffith of Sandyville, and W. J. Griffith, also of Sandyville.  His wife died in 1917.        The funeral services were held Friday morning at the Drift Run church with Rev. J. C. Swain of Silverton in charge and burial was in the Drift Run cemetery.  Lawrence M. Ford, funeral director of Crow Summit, had charge of the arrangements.
