Information: FORMER RAVENSWOOD EDUCATOR CLAIMED - Dr. Ronald E. Good, 71, Marietta, a noted educator in Ohio and West Virginia, died Friday morning in Marietta Memorial Hospital. Dr. Good was born in Kenna, a son of the late James and Ader Siders Good. He lived in Jackson County until the death of his mother when he was 9 years old, when he went to live with a sister and brother-in-law. He received his bachelor's degree from Marietta College where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his master's degree from West Viriginia University and taught in several one-room schools in Jackson County and also at Ravenswood High School. He also taught at Marion Franklin High School, Columbus, Ohio and Warren High School in Washington County. Dr. Good received his Ph.D. in education from the Ohio State University and was professor of education at WVU and later was in the Department of Education at Glenville State College, where he was a supervisor of student teachers for 10 years. He retired in 1978. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Air Force in the China-Burma-India Theater. He was a member of Lowell Post 750, The American Legion; Ravenswood Lodge AF & AM; the Knights Templar of Royal and Select Masons; the Royal Arch Masons; the Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge; Aladdin Temple and the Marietta Shrine Club. He was also a member of Warren Chapel United Methodist Church, the Lamba Chi Alpha Fraternity, the National Education Association, the Ohio Education Association, Washington County Retired Teachers Association, the Ohio Retired Teachers Association. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Greenlees, whom he married in 1944; two sons, James Greenlees Good and Ronald Porter Good, both of Columbus, Ohio; a grandson, Scott Porter Good. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Services were conducted Monday, in the McClure-Schafer Funeral Home, Marietta, with the Rev. Sharon Rhomenus officiating. Burial was in Warren Chapel Cemetery with military rites at the grave.
