Information: Ray Glassner, 83, of Fairplain, Jackson County, died Saturday, July 26, 1997 at Jackson General Hospital following a sudden illness.  He was born March 8, 1914 at Akron, a son of the late Fred and Caroline Comer Glassner.  He was a veteran of World War II where he was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, a Purple Heart and Oak Leaf Clusters.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veteras, V. F. W., and American Legion and a member of Masonic Lodge F  & A M#16, Ripley.  He is survived by his wife, Ruth Rhodes Glassner; daughters, Karen Kolons of Palm Bay FL and Marrae Hill of Sandyville WV; step-daughter, Judy DeWees of Magnolia OH and step-son, Richard ""Butch"" Collins of Ripley.  Also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Brenton DeWees and John Gunther officiating.  Interment with Masonic Rites by Ripley Lodge #16 was in the Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood WV.
