  <p>Information: Paul Eugene Balis, Ravenswood, died Friday, Aug. 3, 1990, at the Jackson General Hospital in Ripley after a lengthy illness.  He was born in Jackson County, a son of the late Peter Earl and Margaret Emaline Smith Balis.  He was a member of the Ravenswood Faith Bible Church, a retired employee of Kaiser Aluminum with 21 years of service and had served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War.  He is survived by his wife, Eileen Taylor Balis; one daughter, Deanna Witt of Ravenswood; one brother, George Balis of Salem; two sisters, Beulah Cottrell of Salem and Patricia Somerville of Sandyville.  Services were Sunday at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Kenneth Leedy and the Rev. Donald Balis officiating.  Burial was in Ravenswood Cemetery.</p>
