Information: Beulah V. Gillaspie, Dean Emeritus of the School of Home Economics at Purdue University, formerly of Ravenswood, died at Westminster Healthcare Center, West Layfayette, Ind.  She was born in Cottageville, a daughte of the late William and Caroline Wheeler.  She was a Jackson Herald subscriber for over 60 years.  A native of Ravenswood, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  She graduated from Ohio University with the bachelor of science degree in 1925, the degree master of science from the University of Minnesata in 1928 and the degree of doctor of philosophy from Columbia University in 1947.  She taught at University of Arkansas, Purdue and California State University.  She was food research editor at McCall's Magazine and was director of Sealtest Laboratory Kitchen.  She was awarded the Ohio University Alumni Certificate of Merit for distinguished achievement in higher education.  She is a past president of the American Home Economics Association.  She is survived by one niece, Mrs. Charles (Wilma) Heaton of Pittsburgh; and one great-nephew, Terrance Heaton of North Villa, Mich.  Graveside services were held in Ravenswood Cemetery, Ravenswood.
