Information: FRIENDS PAY TRIBUTE TO MEMORY OF JOHN WESLEY GARRISON TUESDAY Friends throughout southern Jackson county and portions of Kanawha and Putnam counties paid tribute to the life and labors of Rev. John Wesley Garrison last Tuesday afternoon at the funeral service held for the 70 year old retired minister at the Watts Chapel church near Kenna. Rev. Hobson D. Fisher and Rev. Charles Scragg spoke the words of eulogy from the same pulpit from which Rev. Garrison had preached many sermons during his many years in the ministry. He served as an active minister fo 50 years, and the occasion of that 50th anniversary a number of months ago was an occasion for a great gathering at the home where the aged and infirm minister lived. It was a day which wil long be rememberd by all present as it was on that occasion that he delivered his last sermon from a wheel chair. He died on Saturday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Stover of Red House, with whom he had made his home for some time. Also surviving are three other daughters, Mrs. Talmage Harrison of Tyler Mountain and Macel and Gay Garrison, both of Dunbar; two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Newell of Prospect, Ohio and Mrs. Roxie Jividen of Buffalo, and three brothers, Thomas, Jacob and Mark, all of Buffalo.
