Information: LIBERTY - Noble Lee Garnes, 76, of Liberty, departed this life Saturday, February 5, 2005, at his home following a long illness. He was born October 26, 1928, in Charleston, a son of the late William R. (Bid) Garnes and Belle Harrison Garnes. He was also preceded in death by one son, Daniel Lee Garnes. Noble was a retired mechanic for Walker Machinery. He served his country as a military police officer in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Noble was also a member of the American Legion Post 107 in Ripley. Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy Humphreys Garnes; daughter, Lisa Garnes and husband Larry of Ripley; five grandchildren, Michelle Garnes, Peggy Jane Winter, Jason Daniels, Justin and Robert Winter; and one great-grandchild, Daniel Robert Spurlock. Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Reverend Billy Casto officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside services provided by American Legion Post 107 of Ripley in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
