Information: Joseph B. Garnes, 77 years old, died at his home near Kenna Friday morning after a long illness.  His condition had been critical for some time and death was expected.  The body was brought to the Mays Mortuary and prepared for burial.  Surviving are the widow and two sons, Holly and Estel Garnes, of Charleston, one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Southall, of Fairplain, and a brother, Frank Garnes, of Ripley.  [from the Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection]
