  <p>Information: COTTAGEVILLE - Carroll Lee Garnes, 58, of Cottageville, died July 2, 1998, in General Division, CAMC, after a short illness.  He was a furnace operator for American Alloy, New Haven, a member of United Steelworkers Union Local 5171, New Haven, a Baptist and an Army veteran.  Surviving:  daughters, Lois Ann Hedrick of Grove City, Ohio, Carole Leigh Hunt of Ripley; son, Robert Peyton Garnes of Mount Alto; mother, Birdie Reed Garnes of Wingo, Ky.; brothers, Earl of Great Falls, Mich., Roy of Sissonville, Harold of Point Pleasant, Kenneth of Ripley; sister, Mildred Deason of Wingo; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren.  Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with the Rev. Steve Atkinson officiating.  Burial will be in Fairplain Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 6669, Ravenswood.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.</p>
