Information: GANDEE FUNERAL HELD AT FAIRPLAIN - Mrs. Mae Vesta Gandee, 46-year-old mother of 21 children and the wife of Foster Gandee of Fairplain, died soon after being admitted to a Charleston hospital last Saturday afternoon.  She had been ill for several days and planned to undergo an operation sometime this week.  Last Saturday morning her condition became critical and she was rushed to the hospital, but died soon after being admitted.  Physicians said that an embolysm was the cause of the death.  The funeral service was held at the Fairplain church Monday afternoon with Rev. Beryl England in charge and the burial was in the Casto cemetery.  The Parsons undertakers were in charge of the arrangements.  Mrs. Gandee was born at Fairplain and was a daughter of O. S. and Nancy Anderson Crane.  She spent her entire life in the community to which she was born.  Her husband, Foster Gandee; her mother, Mrs. Nancy Crane; and 16 surviving children, George Gandee of Sandusky, Ohio, Marshall, Foster, Jr., Johnnie, Carl, Jackie, Billie, Keith, Raymond, and Ronnie, all at home; six daughters, Mrs. Virginia Morton of Sandusky, Ohio, Josephine, Ruby, Ruth, Dottie and Eleanor, all a home.
