Information: Funeral services for George W. Gandee, 74 years old, were held in Dunbar at the Methodist church last Sunday afternoon with a large crowd of relatives and friends in attendance.  The body was brought to the Shinn cemetery, at Fairplain, for burial.  Mr. Gandee, a former blacksmith at Fairplain, died at the home of Rev. A. B. Parsons in Dunbar early Friday morning of a heart attack.  His health had not been good for some time but friends said that his death was unexpected.  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Josephine L. Parsons Gandee, of Dunbar.  The were married December 28, 1892 in Jackson county; two sons, Homer Gandee of Fairplain and Foster Gandee of Poca; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Lee of Dunbar, Mrs. Mattie Fields of Millwood, and Mrs. Gale Barney  of Point Lick; three half-brothers, Charles Gandee, Hent Gandee and Perry Gandee, all of Kenna; four half-sisters, Mrs. Jane Landis, of Charleston, Mrs. Angeline Chancey of Plum Orchard, Mrs. Lola Griffith of Kenna, and Miss Mass Parsons of Fairplain.  Mr. Gandee was a native of Jackson County, a son of Urial and Minerva Parsons Gandee and spent the greatest part of his life in the Fairplain and Kenna sections.  Several years ago he moved to Dunbar where he had since made his home.
