Information: RIPLEY - Carroll Owen Gandee, 71, of Ripley, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007, at V.A. Hospital, Clarksburg. He was born November 10, 1931, at Fairplain, a son of the late Homer and Dollie Chase Gandee. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a truck driver for the Teamsters. He was a member of the Shatto Tabernacle Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a life member of the Ripley VFW Post 5501 and the American Legion Post 107. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Anderson Gandee; sons, Duke Gandee of Ripley and Ronnie Batten of Ripley; sister, Eloise Isner of Elkins; grandchildren, Jessica Batten, Michele Batten, Katrina Vanheck, Joey Gandee, Jake Gandee, and Brandy Gandee, and severl nieces and nephews. Services will be held tomorrow, September 30, 2007, at 2 pm at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor David Fields officiating. Burial with military rites provided by the American Legion Post 107 will follow in Fairplain Cemetery.
