Information: KENNA - Basil Edwin ""Bunt"" Gandee, 90, of Kenna went home to be with his Lord, Nov. 24, 2002, following a long illness. He was comforted at the time of his passing by his family whose love and devotion to their father was endless. He was born Aug. 17, 1912, in Kenna, the son of the late Perry and Ora Ellen Cleek Gandee. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Relda Summers Buckley Gandee; his first wife and the mother of his children, Minnie Walker Gandee Bayless; three grandchildren, Wilda Christine Hunt, Jeffery Allen Miller and Edgar Lee Hunt; one great-grandson, James Lee; one brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Herman Gandee and Doris Skeen Gandee Poling; one sister and brother-in-law, Ines Gay Hatcher and Clyde Hatcher; and one brother-in-law, Harold Carnell. He was a member of Grassllick Baptish Church, Kenna Grange, Jackson County Fox Hunters Association, West Virginia Beekeepers and AFL-CIO Union. He was retired from Libby-Owens-Ford Glass with 38 years of service. He is survived by two sons, Clemit Maxwell Gandee of Ashtabula, Ohio and James Ralph Gandee of Madison, Ohio; four daughters, Betty Lenore Kerns of Kenna, Donna Mae Jones of Bay St. Lewis, Mo., Edith Ellen Stalnaker of Gray, Ga., Wilda Elenore Karl of Monroven, Md., and one stepson, Michael Buckley of Newark, Del. A generation of grandchildren will remember their grandfather with love, Mitzie Montemore, Jeanie Class, Jerry Miller, Tabbie White, Oral E. Ray, Belinda Large, Edward K. Miller, Ena Carson, Charles C. Ray, Kevin Lee Mille, Condy Gentile, Paul Gandee, Kimberly Stewart, Joe Gandee, Shellie Wienhold, Mary Beth Groudle, Eddie Stalnaker, Robert Karl, Jr., and Joe Duforer. Step- grandsons, Edwin and Michael Buckley; foster-grandson, Richard Quinn; foster-granddaughter, Viola Quinn. The love of a great-grandfather will pass through another generation of several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He will also be mourned by sisters and a brother-in-law, Reba and Shelby Garnes and Virginia Carnell, all of Kenna; and several nieces and nephews. Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. David Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Stone Lick Cemetery, Kenna. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.
