Information: Randolph ""Randy"" Gable, 80, of Kenna, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Hubbard Hospice House. He was born November 26, 1931 at Moundsville, a son of the late Milton Arthur and Effie McCullough Gable.  He retired from Century Aluminum Company with 35 years of service where he was a Mill Operator and a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 5668.  He was a member of the Ripley Volunteer Fire Department for many years and had been certified as an EMT.  Randy served as a US Marine during the Korean War and was an active member in Jackson County's Walter L. Mann Detachment of the Marine Corps League.  He marched with the Honor Guard for Ripley's Fourth of July Parade for years and carried the Marine Flag in the Honor Guard in the 2011 Veterans Day Parade.  Randy was an adventurous soul and loved to travel, boat and camp.  For his 80th birthday he went zip lining with his family.      In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife in 1979, Betty Winland Gable, and a sister, Shirley Wyatt.  He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Wilson of Charleston; a son, Carl Gable and his wife Melinda of Denver CO; a brother, Milton A. Gable, Jr. of Ravenswood; sisters, Gloria Riggs-Six of East Liverpool OH and Norma Williams of Weirton WV; his grandchildren, Eric Wilson and his wife Andrea of Charleston SC, Bradley Wilson of Charleston, Tricia Gable of Wilmington NC, Dalton Gable of Ft. Collins CO, Peyton Gable, Nicholas Gable, and Raegen Gable, all of Denver.  Funeral service is today Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 4 pm at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Dr. William McCoy and Dr. James W. Roberts officiating.  A private burial will take place at Jackson County Memory Gardens at a later time.  Friends may call from 2 pm until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.  He shared his life story in a memoir.  In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to write a memory that can be added as a postscript to his book.  Memorials may be made to the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston or to the charity of your choice.
