Information:   Millie Friend, 87, of Cottageville, died at Jackson General Hospital on Monday of this week after a long illness.   She and her husband, Wirt Friend,had preceded her in death several years ago, operated a grocery and feed store in West Ripley for many years.   Funeral services were held at the Mt. Alto Hopewell Baptist Church.  Burial was in the Hopewell Cemetery with the Rev. Michael O'Dell officiating.  Casto Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.   In addition to her husband, a son, Leonard, also preceded her in death.  She is survived by one brother, Ola Bush of Ravenswood, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Roy Friend of Cottageville, with whom she made her home.
