Information:   Helen R. Friend, 72 of Parkersburg, died in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Feb. 3, 1987 after a long illness   She was born in Ravenswood, a daughter of the late Ross and Gertrude Davisson Mortimer.  She was retired as a bookkeeper with Horner & Harrison, was a member of the First Lutheran Church and Parkersburg Chapter No. 14, Order of the Eastern Star.   She is survivied by her husband, Earl William""Bill"" Friend; two sons, Earl William Friend II of Parkersburg and Michael M. Friend of HIckory, N.C., a brother, C. R. Mortimer of Weirton; three sisters, Marguerite Leeson of Weirton, Gladys McCoy of St. Petersburg, FL. and Garnet Flinn of Morgantown; six grandchldren.   The funeral was at Ogdin Funeral Home in Parkersburg with the Rev. James F. Kinsler and the Rev. Margo E. Friend officiating with burial in the Parkersburg IOOF Cemetery.
