Information: Funeral services for Mary Alice Stout Baker, age 79 years and the wife of Frank Baker, of Ripley, Rt. 2, who died 7 September 1936, were held at the Oak Hill church on Wednesday under the directions of Rev. Fred Slaughter and burial followed in the Oak Hill cemetery. Mrs. Baker died on Monday morning at 2 o'clock following an illness of a little more than a week. Her death resulted from complications due to her advanced age, members of the family said. She was a pioneer resident of that section and spent her life on the same farm where she was born. She was the daughter of Thomas and Minerva Stout and on November 11, 1879 was married to Frank P. Baker and to this union the following children survive: Mrs. Harrie B. Casto of Ripley, Mrs. Nannie Blankenship of Ripley, Mrs. Lila E. Crane of Parkersburg and V. M. Baker of Ripley. The husband also survives. Her parents, one brother and one sister preceded her in death. Since early girlhood Mrs. Baker was a member of the Oak Hill United Brethren church and was one of the highly respected women of the neighborhood in which she lived. Her home was always bright and cheery and her many acts of kindness to the many who visited there will never be forgotten.
