  <p>Information: Arthur L. French, 63, of Nitro, died Wednesday in Memorial Divison, CAMC, after a long illness.  A native of Given, Jackson County, he was a shift mechanic for 24 years at Carbide&#39;s Institute plant.  He was a member of St. Pauls United Methodist Church, Nitro, and the local union of Carbide employees.  Surviving: wife, Bertha Lytton French; son, William R. of St. Albans; daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Lynn Simkins of Marlinton; mother, Mrs. Bessie French of Nitro; five grandchildren.  Service was Friday in St. Pauls United Methodist Church, Nitro, with the Rev. James E. Arbogast officiating.  Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston.  Cooke-Pauley Funeral Home, Nitro, was in charge of arrangements.</p>
