Information: Violet Ruth Frashier, 87, of Ripley, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Eldercare of West Virginia, Ripley. She was born Jan. 19, 1925 at Murraysville, a daughter of the late Ulysses G. and Nellie Staats Talbott. She retired from Ripley High School as a cook and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness. She is survived by a son, James Frashier of Ripley; sisters, Gertie White of Murraysville and Pat Troy of Ellensboro; grandchildren, Gena Frashier of Ripley, Shelly Routan of Huddleston, Ruth Ann Snyder of Fairplain, Jimmy Frashier of Ripley, Josie Matheny of Ripley and Justin Frashier of Ripley; great-grandchildren, Taryn Matheny, Ellison Matheny, Madison Frashier, Emily Frashier, Kensey Bergdorf, Raeghn Frashier and Parker Frashier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gay C. Frashier; a son, Gay E. ""Sam"" ""Jr."" Frashier; brother, Ulysses G. Talbott and a sister, Thelma West. In honoring her wishes, she will be cremated. A visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Following the service a reception will be held at the Parsons-Vail Family Center located in the funeral home.
