Information: Boyd Commodore Baker, 93, of Cottageville, died June 18, 1992, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following a brief illness. He was born in Tyler County, a son of the late Benton Lee and Hannah Jane Pitts Baker. He was a retired school teacher with more than 30 years of service, and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of the AARP and Kaiser Douglas Church of Christ in Ravenswood. Surviving are one son, Commodore Martin Baker of Ripley; one daughter, Dorothy Gwendolyn Hamilton of Cottageville; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Lloyd Baker; one brother, Charles Baker; and one sister, Atha Long. Services were Saturday, Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans, Evangelist Richard M. Jones Jr. officiating. Burial was in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville.
