Information: Mabel Flowers, 85, of New Haven, died Tuesday at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Pt. Pleasant, after a brief illness.  She was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Charles Monroe and Jessie Mae ""Roby"" Slaughter.  She was a charter member of Grace Gospel Church in Ripley, and attended Hopewell Baptist Church at Mt. Alto.  Survivors include one nephew, Charles McKay of Ravenswood and two nieces, Virginia Martin of Ravenswood and Regina Miller of Charleston.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Flowers, one son, Norman Flowers, two brothers, Otmer Slaughter and Clyde Slaughter and one sister, Flora Blankenship.  Services were held Friday at Casto Funeral Home, of Evans, with the Rev. Herman Robinson officiating.  Burial was in Longview Cemetery, Evans.
