Information: Funeral rites were held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Otterbein Church at Evans, for Charles Flowers, 66 year old retired farmer, who died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Cletis A. (Atha) King, of Evans, after an illness of more than a year.  Burial was in the Otterbein cemetery.  Mr. Flowers was a son of Augustus and Mary E. (Dunlap) Flowers and was born Nov 14, 1874, departed this life Aug 15, 1940, age 65-9-3.  He was united in marriage to Rena Sheppard on Nov 13, 1905.  To this union two children were born.  Also surviving, in addition to Mrs. King, are one son, Everett A. Flowers of Fostoria, Ohio, one sister,  Mrs. A.T. Parsons, of Ripley, and three brothers, A. B. Flowers, of Mt. Alto, J.W. Flowers, of Pt. Pleasant, and Harley Flowers, Evans.               Additional Obituary -- Charley Flowers, the son of Augustus and Mary E. (Dunlap) Flowers, was born Nov. 14, 1874, departed this life August 15, 1940 at 6:45 a.m., age 65 years, nine months, three days.  In early life he professed faith in Christ and united with the E. U. B. church and remained a faithful Christian till death.  He looked forward to a happy meeting with his Lord, his companion, and many other friends and loved ones.  He was united in marriage to Rena Shepherd, Nov. 13, 1905, unto this union two children were born: Mrs. Cletis King of Evans, W. Va., and Everette Flowers of Fostoria, Ohio.  Beside this son and daughter, there also survive him three brothers and one sister;  namely Harley Flowers, Evans, W. Va., A. B. Flowers, Mount Alto, W. Va., and J. V. Flowers of Pt Pleasant, W. Va., and Mrs. A. T. Parsons of Ripley, W. Va.  There are also a number of grandchildren, nephews and neices, other relatives and a host of friends.  Brother Flowers was known as a loving husband, a kind and an affectionate father, a friend and neighbor that was liked and loved by all.  He looke forward to the city whose builder and maker is God, where he would never grow old, and never be sick again and have to die.
