Information: DEATH CLAIMS BERT FLOWERS-WELL KNOWN MT. ALTO MAN TAKEN BY DEATH ON FRIDAY - Funeral services were held Sunday at the Hopewell church at Mt. Alto for Alfred Bertram Flowers, 79 year old farmer of the community who died at his home there on Friday.  The Rev. Noah Haskins officiated at the service and the burial under the direction of the Vail undertakers was in the Blaine Memorial cemetery at Cottageville.  Mr. Flowers was a widely known citizen of the county, a member of the Cottageville Grange and of the Long Bottom Methodist Church.  He had engaged in farming all his life.  Survivors include one son, Bernard Flowers of Mt. Alto; four daughters, Mrs. Early Bennett of Cottageville, Miss Hazel Flowers of Portsmouth, Ohio, Mrs. Arnold Sayre of Thornville, Ohio, and Mrs. Ernest Thornton of Cottageville, 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
