Information: Larry Douglas (Doug) Flinn, 59, of Parkersburg WV, passed away February 8, 2012 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg. He was born January 29, 1953 to Walter Ray and Earnestine (Teny) Safreed Flinn. Doug worked for Quest Diagnostics of Pittsburgh for over 20 years. He enjoyed his work and interfacing with his clients. He was also a Harley-Davidson motorcyclist and enjoyed riding his ""Hog"" and participating in Poker runs sponsored by the motorcycle club. He enjoyed tropical fish and had three big aquariums. He also had two Puggles dogs, Buster and Toby, who were his special companions as he battled cancer. Doug enjoyed growing and canning tomatoes and could make a mean salsa. Doug was a graduate of Ravenswood High Scholl, Class of 1971, and thoroughly enjoyed attending the events of their 40th reunion in September. That was a bright spot in his life. He worked many hours making DVD's of pictures of the class when they were in grade school to show at reunion events. A cousin, Rennie Vanderbourne, visited him twice daily to help with the dogs and other chores after he couldn't care for his dogs. A special thanks to Janette and Marilyn of Amedisys Hospice for their loving care. Thanks also to Richard Chittum, a friend who provided personal care and transportation to appointments following his August surgery. He is survived by his son, Jeremy (Amber) Flinn of Vincent, Ohio; step-mother, Barbara Flinn of Ravenswood WV; his aunt, Faye Safreed Harmon Milhoan of Ripley WV; and sister, Debbie (Greg) Cooper of Ravenswood. He is also survived by three cousins, a niece and nephew, and lifelong special friends, Travis and Cathy Casto. He was preceded in death by his parents; his maternal grandparents, Jane and Edwin Safreed; and his paternal grandparents, O. R. and Edith Flinn. Services were held on Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood WV. Reverend James Plyburn officiated. Burial followed in Ravenswood Cemetery.
