Obituary Date: 1881-05-18

Information: Death of Hal. Flesher.  Ed's News-- Among the sad news that depressed the spirits of our good people in the past week came tidings of the decease of a dear young friend of the writer--that Hal. Flesher is no more.  Hal. was a bright, handsome, manly lad, of unusual promise, in the fifteenth year of his age; he departed this life after a brief illness, in Pittsburgh, Pa., where he was at School; he was the only son of the late U. W. Flesher, Esq., of this county, a very prominent lawyer, who is well remembered here.  His mother, a lady of education and refinement, was preparing Hal. for the same profession his father had adorned; and a few months ago I received from him a handsome letter, enclosing his photograph, and telling me that as soon as he got through school he was coming to me to read law, and it would have given me pleasure to have assisted him in this laudable object of his youthful aspiration.  But such was not to be the God of the widow and orphan  (remainder missing).   (this obit is from an old photocopy of a newspaper with the handwritten date of May 18, 1881)
