Information: H. C. FLEMING TAKEN BY DEATH - PIONEER RAVENSWOOD RESIDENT SUCCUMBS IN SLEEP AT AGE OF 96 - Henry Clay Fleming, pioneer citizen of Jackson county, who operated an early photography studio, and fater of State Senator Dan B. Fleming of St. Marys, died in his sleep last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jessie Polsene of Ravenswoood.  He was 96 years old.  Mr. Fleming was out on the street as ususal Friday and had remarked to friends that he was feeling fair.  He was born in Wood county June 19, 1845, son of the late Bartholomew and Hannah Warth Fleming, and was the last of ten children.  His father came to Jackson county in 1820 and his mother was a charter member of the first Methodist Episcopal church in Jackson county.      In early life, Mr. Fleming carried the U. S. mail between Ravenswood and Parkersburg on the river in a skiff.  He recalled that he would make the trip in 36 hours.  From this endeavor he saved sufficient money to set up a photography studio in Ravenswood and he continued in this business until his retirement fifteen years ago.  Mr. Fleming told friends that he attributed his long life to the fact that he never drank nor used tobacco.  He was a member of the Masonic lodge for more than fifty years.  Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Polsene, and two sons, Senator Fleming and James A. Fleming of Ripley.  Funeral arrangements wer incomplete.
