Information: Elyse Hulme Fleming of Ravenswood died Friday at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley following an extended illness. She was born in Staffordshire, England, the only daughter of English parents, Benjamin Smith Hulme and Eleanor Ebrill Hulme. She came to the U.S. at an early age and lived in Pittsburgh, PA for several years. She was married to Will Henry Fleming of Ravenswood and lived there most of her life. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Ravenswood and a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, R. Douglas Chapter No. 15 of Ravenswood, a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Bethany Shrine No. 4, Parkersburg. She was also past president of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6669, Ravenswood and a Red Cross volunteer for many years. She is survived by four children, William Benjamin Fleming and Helen Joan Fleming Hoey, both of Ravenswood, David George Fleming of Evergreen, AL and Maree Fleming Skaff of Charleston; one half sister, Mary E. McDaniel of Richmond, VA; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Henry Fleming and two brothers. An Eastern Star Service was held Sunday evening at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home. Services were held Monday afternoon at the First United Presbyterian Church in Ravenswood with the Rev. Wallace Wilson and her grandson, the Rev. Douglas G. Fleming of Fern Park, FL officiating. Mrs. Fleming had requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Red Cross, Jackson County Chapter.
