  <p>Information: EX-POLICE CHIEF DEAD - ILLNESS IS FATAL TO FORMER POLICE CHIEF- The people of Ripley and Jackson county paid their final tribute of respect Saturday afternoon to Hubert W. (Hube) Fisher, 74-year-old former Police Chief of Ripley, who died at his home here on Wednesday.  He served as Police Chief here for a considerable number of years and was generally regarded as a fearless and eminently fair law enforcement official. He was a member of the Grace Gospel church, a retired restaurant operator and farmer.  The funeral service was held at the Parsons funeral home with Rev. William Lovejoy officiating and the burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hattie T. Fisher; two sons, Otmer of Ripley and Edgar of Akron; one brother, Scott Fisher of Sissonville; two sisters, Mrs. Henna Bailey of Kenna and Mrs. Grace Duckworth of Florida and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.</p>
