Information: RETIRED DEPUTY CLAIMED - Former Jackson County deputy sheriff, Eugene Elmer Fisher, 73, of Ripley, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 1991, at Jackson General Hospital after a brief illness.  In addition to serving as deputy, he also served on the Ripley Police Force and was a security guard.  He was born Aug. 18, 1917, at Fisher Ridge, the son of the late Vaught and Oma Mae Lanham Fisher.  He was a Methodist by faith.  Survivors:  wife, Rebecca Stover Fisher, Ripley; sons, Linden Eugene Fisher, Newport News, VA, Stephen Anthony Fisher, Ripley; and D. K. White, Mansfield, Ohio; brothers, Harold Fisher and Russell Fisher, both of Fisher Ridge, Warren Fisher, Melbourne, FL, Harry Fisher, Walton; sisters, Audrey Haynes, Melbourne, FL, Thelma Fisher, Hampton, VA; five grandsons, five granddaughters, three great-grandsons. Services will be held Thursday 1 p.m. at Pleasant View Church, Fisher Ridge, with the Rev. Ernest F. Marty officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  Friends may call at Casto Funeral Home after 4 p.m. today (Wednesday) and one hour prior to service at the church.
