Information: FISHER RITES HELD SUNDAY - FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. R. L. FISHER HELD FROM HOME SUNDAY - Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Fisher, wife of R. L. Fisher, well known farmer and livestock dealer of Kenna, were held from the home last Sunday morning at ten-thirty o'clock and burial was in the Fisher family cemetery not far from the home. Mrs. Fisher was 54 years of age and died on Friday morning of last week. She had been ill for several weeks and for a week or ten days prior to her death her condition had been described as critical and during that time her death was expected almost hourly. Mrs. Fisher is survived by her husband, R. L. Fisher of Kenna; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Elliott of Ripley, Mrs. Phoebe Good and Miss Nancy Fisher; three sons, Odra, Ahaz and James Fisher, all at home; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Legg and three brothers, Joseph, William and Braden Spencer. A number of relatives and friends of the Fisher family from this and immediate sections were at Kenna Sunday for the funeral. The following obituary was read at the funeral: Cora Spencer Fisher, born March 24, 1881, died January 10, 1936, aged 54 years, 10 months and 16 days. She was the daughter of the late Ahaz and Nancy Jane Spencer. She was united in marriage to R. L. Fisher, January 4, 1903, and to this union was born nine children, Mrs. Charles Elliot of Ripley, Mrs. Meredith Good of Charleston, Odra and Jimmie of Kenna, Nancy and Ahaz at home. Three children have preceded her in death in infancy. One sister, Mary Legg of Charleston; three brothers, B. E. Spencer and J. A. Spencer of Charleston and W. A. Spencer of Union district. She was converted at the age of twelve and joined the M. E. church. She always lived a consistent Christian life, a kind loving mother, always planning and sacrificing for her family. Even through her long illness, she had planned and advised her husband and children as to her wishes for their lives after she was gone, asking each to meet her on that peaceful shore. Rev. Corbett Fisher conducted the funeral services Sunday morning and burial was in the family cemetery. Active pallbearers were Orel Skeen, Joe Staab, T. F. Good, Rossie Fisher, Marco Garnes and Holland Koontz. Honorary pallbearers were Sanford Wetherholt, William Fisher, Ernest Fisher, Arnett Slater, Wilburt Chancey, Marshall Faber, Booney Bailey and Warren Bradley.
