Information: Investigating officers have revealed that Kenneth E. Finley, 53, of Rt. 2, Murraysville, died of accidental drowning when his car plunged off the ferry loading ramp into the Ohio River at Ravenswood early Thursday morning. His body was recovered about 9 a.m. from his submerged automobile. The victim's car was pulled to the surface by rescue units of the Ravenswood Volunteer Fire Department with his body still in the vehicle. Chief Edward Speece of the Ravenswood Police Department reported that Finley, a local cattle dealer and owner of the Smoke House Tavern, had been traveling south on Water Street parallel to the river during a heavy storm and apparently lost control of his car. According to Ravenswood police, Daisy Casto, one of Finley's employees, was a passenger in the car and jumped to safety before the vehicle entered the water. Finley's body was removed to the Chambers Funeral Home in Ravenswood and Prosecuting Attorney Joseph C. Hash, Jr., ordered an autopsy. Surviving: wife, Mrs. Virginia Combs Finley; daughters, Miss Sharon Finley of Williamsburg, VA., Mrs. Karen Stewart of Murraysville; step-daughter, Mrs. Ginger McMahon of Proctorsville, Ohio; mother, Mrs. Olive Polk of Murraysville; sister, Mrs. Lorranie Davis of Ravenswood, four grandchildren. Service was 2 p.m. Sunday in Coleman Chapel United Methodist Church, Murraysville with the Rev. William Sullivan officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
