  <p>Information: Sherman Alfred Fields, 69, of Statts Mills, died Sept. 5, 1993, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, after a long illness.  He was retired from the City of Ripley maintainence street crew.  He was a Protestant.  Surviving:  wife, Melva; son, Larry of Statts Mills; daughters, Judy Randolph, Bonnie Roton and Janet Peters, all of Statts Mills, Mamie Payne of Ripley; brothers, Basil of Gay, Charles and Roy, both of Statts Mills, Gay of Ravenswood; sisters, Monnie Mahood of Statts Mills, Louisa Price of Gasy, Dorothy Canter of Sissonville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Service was Tuesday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley.  Burial was in Siniaville Cemetery, Statts Mills.</p>
